Our editorial principles

  3. Use the strongest available source. Official manufacturer materials are preferred for specifications. Direct inspection and transaction records inform condition, configuration and market commentary.
  4. Disclose commercial context. Superlative Watch Co. is a luxury-watch retailer. Guides may link to current inventory or sourcing services, but inventory availability does not override the stated buyer recommendation.

This protocol governs new guides, updates, structured-data modules and retrospective audits across the Superlative Watch Co. guide library. It is designed to keep the visible article and the machine-readable graph accurate without forcing every sentence or number into JSON-LD.

Core rule: every structured claim must be visible or directly supported on the page, appropriate to that page, scoped to the exact reference or generation when necessary, and supported by traceable evidence. Not every visible fact needs a duplicate schema property.

Weight and other measured data

A measured watch weight must identify the exact reference, case material, bracelet or strap, installed-link or sizing configuration, clasp or extension state, measurement method and provenance. Manufacturer-published and independently measured figures are labeled separately. Conflicting values are disclosed or omitted rather than averaged into a false consensus.

Automation and factual conflicts

Existing-guide coverage and retrospective audit

This protocol applies retroactively to every classified published guide and sub-guide. The centralized engine supplies the appropriate baseline hierarchy to the existing library, and every future edit or audit follows these rules.

That does not mean every historical numerical statement has already been re-verified. Measurement-heavy, specification-heavy and exact-reference pages are reviewed in controlled priority batches. Until a data point completes source, reference-scope and visible-parity review, it is not promoted into deep quantitative schema merely because a number appears in an article.
