What the names do—and do not—tell you
Display is not mechanism
“Complete calendar” or “triple calendar” usually describes a day, date and month display. It does not guarantee annual- or perpetual-calendar intelligence. A visually complete calendar may still need five corrections each year.
Moon phase is separate
A moon phase is frequently paired with annual and perpetual calendars, but it does not determine the calendar type. Its accuracy also varies materially by calibre.
Oyster Perpetual is not a perpetual calendar
Rolex uses “Oyster Perpetual” for its Oyster case and automatic Perpetual rotor. The Sky-Dweller uses a Saros annual calendar; it is not a perpetual calendar.
2100 still matters
